Shibari Workshop: Building Core Skills & Understanding

When; 20th Feb - 22nd Feb 2026

Ever wondered what’s next after learning the basics?

Or how to prepare for suspensions?

Are you a model who has limited experience in rope but want to learn more?

Well this workshop is designed for you.

We’ll help you strengthen your foundational skills and deepen your understanding of how ties work, from the forces created by up lines and tension changes that affect both the tie and the model, to how movement can influence the mood and intention of a tie.

 Using three essential ties

  • Chest harnesses,

  • Hip harnesses,

  • and Futomomos

And in this workshop we’ll focus on:

  • Rope handling and movement

  • Up line management

  • Plus model engagement and safety:

  • What a model needs to do before, during, and after a tie, from preparation and communication, to in tie awareness and aftercare.

There will be multiple variations shown of each tie type across the weekend.

The workshop is divided into sections, each dedicated to one tie type. In the final session, we’ll combine all elements into a complete tie. Whether this results in a full or partial suspension will depend on how well participants absorb the material—model safety remains our top priority.

Who is this for?

This workshop is ideal for those progressing toward suspensions, but it offers valuable insights for both riggers and models at any experience level.

You will need to know a bit more than the basics so please do message for more details.
