A Little About Kasumi Hourai

Kasumi Hourai is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading female

Kinbaku masters.

She began her journey in the erotic arts at the age of 18, debuting as a dominatrix.

Just two years later, at 20, she received her first Kinbaku lessons from the legendary Akechi Denki. Through continued training with renowned masters such as Naka Akira, Kasumi refined her technique and developed her own distinctive style and artistic voice.

With over 26 years of experience, Kasumi has taught and performed internationally, sharing her deep knowledge of traditional Kinbaku with communities around the world.

Her work carries a strong influence from traditional Japanese aesthetics and culture. Drawing inspiration from disciplines such as ikebana (flower arrangement), sado/chado (tea ceremony), and the elegance of fine kimono, her tying reflects a profound appreciation for form, balance, and beauty.

Kasumi’s style is known for its refined and haunting aesthetic, blending elements of classical Japanese culture with Kinbaku’s exploration of kyokuero (eroticism) and ku (suffering), creating performances and teachings that are both emotionally powerful and visually striking.
